Current Project: Sustainable Bundaberg!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Bundaberg Tourism to tell some of the sustainability success stories from that beautiful part of the country.

It was a pleasure to do a deep dive into some of the tourism businesses in that region and profile their great work. I got to take a deep dive into the history of rum making in Bundaberg, as well as understand the processes behind the family-owned Bundaberg Brewed Drinks. I was bowled over by the enthusiasm of Joey Caruana from The Windmill Cafe, Bargara, as well enjoying understanding more about how big producers like Macadamias Australia and Greensill Farming (sweet potato growers) are creating circular economies in the region. It was also a pleasure to understand more about accomodation providers at all levels including meeting the irrepressible Carly from Splitters Farm, the dedicated crew at Kellys Beach Resort, Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort (did you know the lush island was once a degraded moonscape?) and the Lady Musgrave Experience where you can sleep underwater on the Great Barrier Reef.

Bundaberg is such a great foodie destination because it can grow almost anything in its lush subtropical climate and rich soils. After a really tough 2021 for everyone, I’m looking forward to heading up to Bundaberg for Destination Food in 2022.

Measuring the success

It the end of every project, I always ask clients what they would say to others about the experience of working with me. Here’s what the crew at Bundaberg Tourism said:

“Jen was a pleasure to work with. She was able to deliver exactly what we needed by bringing together her sustainability knowledge and writing talent. Thanks to Jen's work we are now fully equipped to tell the sustainability story of the Bundaberg Region with a suite of case studies featuring the amazing work being done by Bundaberg businesses.”

Thanks Bundy!

I take great pride in these glowing reviews. You can read more testimonials from my clients here.
